Foam Bulkheads
After a couple of years developing the bonded in foam bulkheads in our touring range we’re that impressed with the structural bonding were consistently getting we have decided to swap over the bulkheads in the P&H Capella 160 and 166 to this totally new system.

The new foam system we have developed has several key advantages over the older welded in system these are:

It is lighter:
We can save about 1kg 2.2lbs over a welded 3 hatch boat.

It gives greater inherent buoyancy:
This is helpful in many countries that are now enforcing regulations for small craft such as kayaks on the sea.

It is more reliable:
We are having great reliability from the system with it being used in the field for over two years now.

It is quicker:
Obviously this makes us more efficient

We will be using the new bulkhead system in all the Capella 160 and 166’s we produce from February 07.
