Mark Tozer

Mark Tozer has been paddling, coaching and messing around in all kinds of boats for the past 25 years with sea kayaking being his main specialism. He has made the most of the waters off Anglesey and the mountains of Snowdonia to develop his personal and instructional skills before going on to lead and coach others around the world including such places as Greenland, Canada, North America, Mexico, Ecuador, Europe, Israel, Kenya, Australia and New Zealand.

Mark has gained a number of British Canoe Union awards including the coveted Level 5 Coach (Sea). Along with this, he is a qualified teacher and holds a doctorate (PhD) with a research focus on expedition leadership. Mark was instrumental in establishing the UK Storm Gathering symposiums, and continues to organize the events now in their seventh year.

Mark enjoys the privilege of being able to work alongside his wife, Helen Wilson, through their business Greenland or Bust. Whether teaching together on the water, or traveling across the globe, Helen and Mark have been to some truly unique and magical places. They have also been fortunate enough to share some great moments with equally inspiring friends, colleagues and students. The best adventures often occur when things don’t go according to plan or there is a chance to observe nature in action.
