A relatively mild winter turned wicked a few weeks ago, and I find myself ice-bound and snowed under. Temperatures haven’t topped freezing in three weeks, and a winter storm just dumped 18 inches of snow on us.

Plum Island Shallows–on a south wind, surf will break on the limestone shelf that extends off of the south east side of the island.
One of my favorite places to paddle is out of Gloucester Harbor to Kettle Island. This past Sunday was clear and cold, a perfect day to paddle.
